I mean for fuck's sake we have devices that can record in 4K at 60fps and we carry them around in our POCKETS. I set it up to record on a bookshelf, out of sight.

Photos are GREAT, but with video you can HEAR people, see them, see their movements, expressions, etc. Knowing life is finite, and loving them as much as I do, and only seeing them about once per year, I thought it would be good to record these sorts of things. Lots of talking, laughter, good food, great time. Half of my family lives in Europe, and last time I was there I set my GoPro up to record during a lunch we had. To that end I recently started recording more videos of casual conversations and family gatherings. I'm glad you were able to see these now that they're gone. Here’s hoping for many more just like this in the future and good on you Apple! Something I didn’t even know I wanted or needed until I found them. It’s a great and positive thing and possibly one of my absolute favourite technological additions in the recent past. I think these “Live” pictures are quite frankly amazing for that. I think when any of us lose someone that’s close, no matter whether your religious or not, you want to remember and you want to think that some part of that person lives on. But to be positive, there are so many that make me smile and laugh. It has been very difficult and to be honest I look at the pictures every night. The only thing I wish is I’d figured it out sooner and taken more.Įdit: Thank you very much to all of you for your condolences. It’s really awesome having those little snapshots to happy times and hearing it as well. I lost a really close friend a while ago and finding out that some of the pictures of him and us together were live was such an awesome gift.
